Austin-Powers-does-Asia is how we'd describe this stylish and kooky op-art inspired Indian restaurant in the Kew Road, only minutes away from Richmond Station in south London. With graphic orange wallpaper, chandeliers and crisp white linens, Origin Asia restaurant is split over four levels offering endless options for intimate dinner parties, business meetings and celebrations, and the authentic Indian menu is popular for its classic curries. We recommend the fish tikka curry – chargrilled fish served in tikka masala sauce with red chillies and mustard seeds; the sea bass stuffed with yoghurt and chillies and baked in the oven; and the reshmi seekh chicken kebab flavoured with cheese, ginger and cardamom chargrilled in the tandoor.

Absolutely delicious meal at Origin Asia in Richmond. Highlights were the tandoori lamb chops, garlic naan & dahl makani, but everything else was yummy too! This definitely is in my top 3 favourite Indian restaurants in London. Toptable offer meant that it came to just over £75 for 4 of us with poppadoms, starters, mains, vegetable sides, breads & rice - great value for this level of curry.
the lamb bryani was very bland and rice was overcooked. Service was very slow and not attentive at all. After 20minutes starter arrived...cold. Naan bread was very good and freshly prepared and was very tasty; that's the only thing I'd have got back fo
We visited Origin Asia for a New Year treat. The food was fantastic, fresh flavours and not at all greasy or over rich. Just what we needed after a week of Christmas indulgence! The king prawn starter was beautiful and the chana masala was also especially good. Service could be improved, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment of the evening.
Origin Asia in Richmomd is an unusual looking venue, with both a mezzanine, ground and lower floor sections. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly. Also seating outside in the summer! With the TT offer, it is very good value.
My wife an I enjoyed an excellent lunch at Origin Asia in Richmond. Although the restaurant was half full it did not take away from the high standard of cuisine and service.
