Toptable says about Brasserie Gerard - Loughton

You might be in the pleasant town of Loughton, just outside of the capital, but step foot inside Brasserie Gerard and you could be in any little brasserie in Paris. Inspired by those atypical views of the French capital in the between-wars years, branches of Gerard are always chic, buzzy and tres, tres French. Bright and airy, with large windows overlooking the street, Loughton's Brasserie Gerard is always full of young professionals relaxing after a hard day in the office or young mummies sipping coffee and gossiping. Serving good, hearty grills plus lighter salads, French country style tarts and even tagines, the menu is truly eclectic, appealing to Francophiles and foodies alike.

This is the 2nd time we have been to Chez Gerrard, Loughton and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was good and the service was excellent, efficient, friendly and attentive.

A very pleasant meal but as we went on a Monday for a birthday meal it was not going to be the best night for eating out however it was enjoyable and will go again.

Brasserie Chez Gerard was a disappointment after eating in a Chez Gerard restaurant proper. te menu is more limited, however it is cheaper. The staff were friendly, but the oil the whitebait was cooked in must have been old and two out of 4 mains were luke warm. This is unacceptable when only 4 tables had guests at. On the plus side the quality ofthe rump steak was excellent
