About Maurya Restaurant
Maurya Restaurant – located on Church Road in Stanmore – is a dining destination renowned for its authentic and sophisticated curries made by Mr S.S. Rana from the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai and his team of chefs from the Taj Hotel in Goa. The food and service at Maurya is so good it attracts a glittering crowd of Bollywood stars and famous faces from India when they are visiting the UK, and the food is prepared using the highest-quality ingredients in a healthy manner, with minimal oils, butters and creams. Favourites from the menu include the Malabari Meen curry – a traditional fish curry from Kerela, and the Murgh Lababdar – Chicken Tikka cooked in a mildly spiced tomato and cream sauce.

We visited Maurya, Stanmore on a Tuesday evening and it was quite busy. We had the ususal fare of non-veg kebabs (delicious), followed by the murgh labador, goan fish curry and sag ghosht with rice and breads. There was a great choice of fresh breads, we had the naan, roomali roti and onion kulcha, which distinguishes it from all the rest. Everything was succulent, we paid £67 for 5 with drinks. Good value.
MAURYA RESTAURANT - STANMORE Attractive decor. Tables of a good size to fit all the food. Quality and portions of the food was very good. Freshly prepared and pleasantly hot and spicy enough. Waitress was genuinely friendly and helpful. Also was attentive but not intrusive.
More authentic Indian food than most, a good all round experience. First visit but will come again soon.
Maurya stanmore was an enjoyable experience as always. Service and the food was impeccable
Maurya is a large restaurant in Stanmore. Unfortunately the tables are squashed very close together - too close for comfort. The food was good but it was not a relaxing evening.
