Gaucho - Richmond

About Gaucho - Richmond

A short stroll along the Towpath in Richmond brings you to the popular Gaucho restaurant, a seriously chic Argentine establishment with a renowned al fresco terrace and fashionable clientele. Gaucho Richmond boasts brilliant views of the river Thames, the Richmond Bridge and the Petersham Meadows, but the interior rivals what’s outside. The decadent décor, a mix of dark wood, cream leather seating, contemporary lighting, banquettes and textural walls, attracts an eclectic crowd of business types, families, and meat lovers who come for the sensational steaks. The menu is filled with Argentine classics – empanadas, and Argentine chicken pie – alongside burgers, a sausage platter and a mixed grill all with an Argentine twist. Staff here are always on hand with wine recommendations, and even the most decisive bon vivant might need a little help – the selection of rare and fine wines is epic. With its huge al fresco terrace and flawless service, Gaucho is one of Richmond’s secluded little gems.

Not bad at all, little pricey. Starters were very good, steak was well cooked.

Another great evening at Gaucho's. Good table overlooking the river and incredibly attentive staff. The wine knowledge of our waiter surely must have rivalled the sommelier. The food was good - but not amazing. I had no fault with it - it was perfectly nice, but it didn't blow me away. All in all a great place for dinner if a tad on the expensive side.
