Forest Tandoori

About Forest Tandoori

Located slightly off the beaten track in Walthamstow, Forest Tandoori takes a refreshingly modern approach to Indian cuisine. Just five minutes walk from Wood Street train station and surrounded by busy pubs, it attracts a fair amount of passing trade but still remains something of a hidden gem. The smart wooden floors and clean white linen make for a calm and contemporary interior – perfect for intimate dinners, business lunches and family gatherings. The extensive menu includes all the familiar favourites you would expect, alongside Forest specials like Murgh Badami – chicken in ginger and garlic paste with saffron and almonds – and Karaki Lamb, cooked with the Chef’s secret recipe. For lunch, thali meals offer a light and delicious way of trying out several different dishes.

We ate at Forest Tandoori in Wood Street on Friday evening. As usual, the food was really tasty. A very nice restaurant.

Forest Tandoori was very pleasant, food was good (the vegetable thali in particular was excellent value), staff were very friendly and it had a nice buzz for a Thursday night in the middle of nowhere. A very handy Indian to have locally, will be going again.

Forest Tandoor is very local for me and I have been there on several occasions in the past. The food is great and very good value for money. The service is always very friendly, although sometimes a little slow. We did wait slightly too long for our food on this occasion but it was a 'catch up' with a friend so we were busy chatting. When it arrived the food was excellent. The atmosphere was a little lacking as it was a snowy Monday evening and the place was deserted!

Great food and service. Well recommended. Lots of people were coming in for takeout while were eating - a good sign
