Souk Medina
About Souk Medina
Souk Medina restaurant in London’s Covent Garden is the younger sibling of the enormously popular Souk Bazaar in Litchfield Street. Samir Mahdi has opened this substantially larger bar and restaurant around the corner where the exotic ambience, affordable North African food and vivacious crowd make Souk Medina an irresistible place to gather. In the subtly lit cave-like downstairs restaurant diners sit on colourful low seating and luxurious floor cushions gently lit by scads of twinkly tea lights. You will be transported. The cocktails are part of the charm of this place, as a thirsty after-work crowd can attest. Souk Medina’s exotic menu features favourites like kefta chermoula (meat balls) with herbs and spices, chicken tagine with chickpeas, cumin and harissa and the delicious chocolate and rosewater crêpes. If you just want a sit down and a natter in comfort, there’s also an atmospheric tranquil tearoom and candlelit cocktail lounge.

We went in a large group and were hugely disappointed due to a few small things which had a big impact on our evening. Nice place and the food when it arrived was nice however with only one waiter for quite a big area we struggled to get served. What was supposed to be a nice relaxed evening out turned out to be quite stressful.
We escaped the cold to this hot spot Souk Medina- Covent Grdn) for an evening of live entertainment and vibrant atmosphere, which makes up for the mediocre food and staff (although jingling) hostility. Our starters were nothing too fantastic but ok, however we were highly disappointed by the main which was a meant to be a mixed seafood tangine :-( I would go again, this is primaily down to the belly dancer and atmosphere. All said I had a great evening but expect to be financially cheated.
Souk Medina - excellent dinner and excellent value with TT offer. Staff were friendly and helpful. Belly Dancer provided good entertainment. Tasty cocktails too.
Souk Medina Covent Garden, good food, friendly service, great athmosphere, will definitely go back!
A lovely experience but very pricey. The cost of the set menu £26.95 per head covers as much as you can eat but there is only so much a person can eat! Because we had a party of over 5 people we had no other option but the set menu. I would rather have paid less for less amount of food as drinks are quite pricey too.
