About Butlers Wharf Chop House

A stunning location by the river, classic English food and relaxed surroundings, The Butlers Wharf Chop house is a must for lovers of classic English food. This restaurant makes a conscious return to the culinary traditions that make England great, with fish, chips and mushy peas; steak and kidney pudding and rib-eye beef making regular appearances on the menu.

With its stunning riverside location and views of Tower Bridge, Butlers Wharf Chop House provides a thoroughly British dining experience. The oak-lined walls and big sun-filled windows are reminiscent of a cricket pavilion or a boating shed, just with more style. The menu offers a subtly modern take on old favourites like Fisherman's pie; tankards of prawns, whelks and cockles; and traditional roasts. The dessert menu offers comforting classics like sticky toffee pudding; rhubarb syllabub; and a British cheeseboard. Wine lovers will enjoy the wide-ranging wine list which features English and Welsh wines, with a good selection by the glass. For a fantastic dinner overlooking the Thames, look no further than the Chop House.

The Chop House also has a comfortable bar, with a set menu at incredible value that features some of the classic dishes from the restaurant, and a set menu of daily specials at just two courses for £10. The bar stocks a fine range of traditional English beers including Hook Norton and Black Sheep Ale. The bar also offers a brunch menu for the weekends - what could be more civilised than sitting out on the terrace of a sunny Saturday morning absorbing brunch and the morning paper?

Celebrated my Mother-in-law''s Mother''s Day there. Despite the fact that 2 of our party were 1 hour late and we only had a 2 hour slot., the staff was brilliant in not giving us the bum''s rush. All in all a posh successful lunch by the river. Just not an exceptional one.

We had a lovely lunch at Butler's Wharf chop house, but found it quite noisy as it was really busy. The food was delicious though, and we had a friendly waiter

We booked on the 3 courses for £24 offer, had to wait 30 minutes for a table then had to sit in the bar area. On the plus side this meant the set menu was £14 for 3 courses. For the standard of food this was amazing value, though as always you get seriously stung on drinks.

The chop house has a lovely location a good atmosphere. We sat in the bar area which was less formal and found this great. The set meal was great value for money.

drinks are quite expensive. special offer is good value but limited choice. had fish and chips and a mushroom tart to start with. In sommer this will be a nice weekend lunch venue as the lcoation is very nice on the river. Atmosphere isnt what sells this place though. too noisy and too more like canteen style seating in the main restaurant.
