It’s rare to be treated to really good, varied food when you’re abstaining from animal products so thank goodness for Woodlands. Situated close to Oxford Street and all the sights and sounds of the West End, Woodlands is a delicious vegetarian restaurant without the hippy connotations. A smart, uncluttered interior makes for sleek, modern surroundings while service is always polite and knowledgeable and the wine list – completely organic – is varied and sophisticated. The delights of South Indian cuisine are clear for all to see on the Woodlands menu which veers between simplistic street food and hearty curries, all vegetarian, many vegan and entirely health conscious too with 98% of dishes free from cream and butter.

Food was great, authentic Indian veg grub. Overall had a lovely eve and would recommend.
We came to woodlands after about 4 years of intending too. The starters we ordered were lovely - varied, flavourful and different.Mains were less impressive - the paneer korma was very bland (bland flavour wise - we were not expecting it to be hot). The music was a little on the quiet side too, which made the restaurant feel quite empty (which it was, for a monday night). Overall i would recommend, and will probably visit again, but maybe choose my mains more wisely or ask for advice.
If you love Indian vegetarian, then you'll love Woodlands. A couple of our friends were surprised we were having a fully vegetarian meal, but they really enjoyed it. Service was very polite and helpful and dishes were explained when they were delivered which was great. Ambience differs greatly I think between the front part of the restaurant (which is darker and more atmospheric) and the back of the restaurant which feels less intimate. We've eaten here a few times before and we'll return again!
Our meal at Woodlands was very enjoyable and the service was friendly & efficient. It has been many years since out last visit and it is good to see that such a long-established has been able to maintain its high standards for so long.
Excellent vegetarian food, though i prefer the set up of the Hampstead restaurant.
