About Prism Brasserie and Bar

Occupying the sensational former Bank of New York building on Leadenhall Street in the City of London. The long narrow lower ground floor bar, set amid the vaults below the main room, is both intimate and fun, serving excellent bar food an bar bites. The feel of this room is in stark contrast to the vast ceiling height and airy space of the main restaurant. This excellent restaurant offers ambience and great cuisine in a landmark building at the heart of the City.

Toptable says about Prism Brasserie and Bar

Harvey Nichols understand the importance of location, and they've bagged a sensation for Prism Brasserie and Bar. The stunning high ceiling and classical columns of the former Bank of New York on Leadenhall Street have been revamped by famous architects Liftschutz Davidson to create an elegant light-filled restaurant that oozes the glamour and power of the 1920s financial world. Furniture and fittings are very Harvey Nichols - classic Mies van Rohe 1930 'Brno' chairs in brilliant red leather, American walnut waiter stations, and bespoke serving trolleys and wine coolers. The kitchen produces very good modern dishes praised for their variety, particularly for vegetarians. By night the dining room turns into a sophisticated lounge cocktail bar buzzing with expensively-attired City folk.

Prism lived up to previous good experiences - guests were impressed with the food and wine recommended was excellent and reasonably priced

This was my second time at Prism: the welcome was warm and the service impeccable. We found the food exquisite: fresh ingredients and much imagination, like the veloute, or the potato foam with the delicious scallops. My only quibble is the high price in this time of recession . The restaurant was only 1/4 full; wouldn't a cheaper fixed price lunch special, as even the best restaurants do in France, make sense for customers and restaurant alike?

Prism Restaurant & Bar was up to expectations. Surprisingly only half full for a lunch near Christmas.

Prism is in a former bank, with lofty ceilings and stunning columns. All the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The Sommelier chose the wine by the glass for each course - excellent. To taste, we had salmon and crab parcel topped with caviar and garnished with fresh beetroot mousse. Then starters to die for, and first-rate main courses. Choices for all tastes. Cheese and desserts excellent. We had excellent food that was well presented by a very friendly team.

Great food, and simple, elegant decor, but frequent interruptions from the waiters spoilt it a bit.
