The Grand Café & Bar occupies three areas of this Grade I listed building which dates back to 1565. In 2001 when LIFFE vacated the building it was sympathetically remodelled to become the home of the worlds' finest fashion retailers. The Courtyard offers an all day dining area serving a selection of crustacea, salads, sandwiches, charcuterie, rillettes and terrines, home-made tarts and patisserie. The two mezzanine bars specialise in cocktails and offer a full range of wines, beers and champagnes.

Lonely Planet review of Royal Exchange Grand Cafe & Bar

This newish Conran venue is really just a very swish pavement cafe, but its excellent location in the middle of the beautiful Royal Exchange building makes it a great place for an informal business meeting. The food ranges from sandwiches to dishes such as leek and fontina tart and langoustines with mayonnaise.
toptable.co.uk review of Royal Exchange Grand Cafe & Bar

The Royal Exchange is one of the City's most magnificent landmarks. Built in 1565, it has survived two fires and its grade 1 listed columns and arches are now home to luxury shops and the aptly-named Grand Café & Bar. In the airy, original courtyard a chic oval bar serves a superb selection of crustacea (the toasted lobster sandwich is a must). Above and all around is a series of wonderful stone-wall mezzanines housing two chic bars, a relaxed dining room and an unique private area. The modern Conran menus include breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Its location means the Grand Cafe attracts smart local business professionals, wealthy shoppers and tourists who use it as an atmospheric pit stop any time of the day. Please be aware that the Royal Exchange Grand Cafe & Bar only accepts private group bookings of 8 or more through toptable.co.uk.
