Tsunami
About Tsunami
Irashaimase Clapham. That’s right, South West London’s turning Japanese thanks to Tsunami restaurant, a slice of Tokyo life on Voltaire Road. Gathering armfuls of awards from the likes of Time Out and Hardens, Tsunami is quickly earning a reputation as the hottest restaurant on the block. The minimalist styling is in keeping with the space age-East theme of the place. Golden blossom blooms across the walls. Cocooning chairs reflect the tunnel-like shape of the relaxed bar space. Follow the curves into the warm, simply-decorated main restaurant where life revolves around a huge orange ‘sun’. Tsunami’s menu is stuffed full of typically Japanese cuisine made exciting with an innovative twist, everything from sushi to teriyaki and, of course, black cod are given a fresh look. And everything is made with the highest quality ingredients. Tsunami is a restaurant that’s absolutely top of many diners’ lists of favourite spots in south London.

Went for dinner with my husband, unfortunately they suffered a power cut, but rang all customers before & gave the option to cancel, when we arrived power was restored. nice decor, good service on both the front desk & table, we had fish tempura & scallop for starter both v. good, for mains we had beef teriyaki, & beef wasibi - preferred the wasibi but both still v. good. Had the mango cheesecake to share was delicious. The only gripe I have is the lack of toilets but would go back again.
Tsunami in Clapham North served great sushi and sashimi; hot mains we had, like chicken teriyaki, were good but quite up to the same standard. Starters of salt and chili squid, and chicken gyoza, were both excellent. Worth checking out if sushi is your thing
food fantastic as always, service not so great
A lovely restaurant - beautiful setting and even more beautiful cocktails! Went for the waiters reccomendations and he it did not dissapoint! Only downside is knowing I am spending a lot more than I would at other pan asian restuarants, but I do think it is worth it now and then!
Excellent as usual.
