Frederick's

About Frederick's

Nestling in amongst the wonderful, atmospheric antique shops of Camden Passage in London’s chic Islington, Frederick’s Restaurant has been a local favourite for more than 40 years. A large, spacious and bright restaurant with a spectacular vaulted glass ceiling, comfortable furnishings in simple, warm colours and original tiled floors, as well as a hidden garden for those summer evenings, Frederick’s has a loyal following among families, theatre goers (the Almeida and Sadler’s Wells are nearby) and of course antique seekers. Sophisticated modern European food is the Frederick’s speciality with dishes attractively presented and full of creative flavour, accompanied by an excellent wine list offering both affordable and luxury vintages alike.

Looking for a restaurant close to Sadler's Wells we identified Frederick's at Angel Islington for our pre show supper and were delighted that all the positive reviews on TT were entirely justified. The venue is calm&stylish with an excellent vibe. Service was outstanding our waitress immediately checking what time we needed to be at the theatre and then ensuring that all 3 course were impeccably timed. we went a la carte but the pre theatre prix fixe looked fab also. Food almost faultless. AAA

Went to try out Frederick's Restaurant, Islington for lunch and have to say it was a very delightful experience. Staff are friendly, efficient but not hovering. The food was a visual delight and extremely tasty. We had the veal and pork loin for mains and creme brulee and the walnut and honey cheesecake. Each dish was superb and we will definitely visit again.

Frederick's Restaurant in Islington has really great food and service and I would definately recommend. The only downside is that it's a tad bit expensive, but if you're on a budget they also have an early bird menu.

Frederick's has to be one of my favourite restaurants in London. As usual the staff were superb, polite and welcoming. We were sat at table at the time booked. I didn't enjoy my meal this time largely because I ordered badly. The first course was crab and it was very small and fried, not how I expected at all. The main meal was duck, again this was a whole leg of duck and not as I had imagined, my fault for not reading the menu correctly. The celariac mash was superb. No wine as its January!!!
