St John
About St John
St. John Bar and Restaurant and its tidy black and white Georgian façade on St John Street in east London have become a fixture on the capital’s dining scene. Fergus Henderson’s original home of ‘nose to tail eating’ opened in a former smokehouse around the corner from Smithfield Market in 1994. Celebrating the finest of British produce, St. John was awarded its first Michelin Star in 2009. Nose to tail eating means that, where appropriate, every part of the animal should be put to good use in the kitchen and so along with roast beef and lemon sole, diners will find rolled pig’s spleen and chitterlings as well as the roast bone marrow and parsley salad, something of a signature dish. Whilst often cited as not a restaurant to take a vegetarian to, the kitchen source and prepare dishes for vegetarians with the same amount of studiousness as they do the meat, fish and poultry and desserts.

St John, London - excellent food - seems to specialise in offal / unusual cuts of meat, I had an excellent lamb special, my colleagues had pork and an offal dish. Starters and deserts all fantastic also. Had to have the eccles cake... mmm.
I visited St John Bar in London for lunch and really enjoyed it. The food is original and really tasty.
