Situated in north London in the heart of leafy Highgate, The Rose and Crown has been transformed from a perfectly acceptable gastropub into a comfortably elegant destination restaurant. Inside the Rose and Crown restaurant the décor is new-style classic, with pale walls, wooden floors, smart artwork, columns, with pools of light and soft leather chairs that all come together to create an ideal setting for dining well. Head Chef Gareth Thomas has worked with top chefs like Jean-Christophe Novelli and Gary Rhodes, so it’s no surprise to find classic French influences on his modern British cuisine. Popular dishes include the confit of Gloucester Old Spot pork belly with a Calvados jus, the beef shin burger with triple-cooked chips, and honey-glazed duck breast. In summer, the Rose and Crown’s charming patio is open for lunch and dinner. And Michelin recommends the Rose and Crown, as do we.

Rose and Crown is great for a stylish yet relaxed quality pub meal - delivering true restaurant quality but without loosing the village pub feel
Lovely food, lovely ambiance, highly recommend for that quiet sunday lunch!
We dined at the Rose & Crown Highgate on Wednesday evening. The service was efficient and friendly. The Roquefort souffle was excellent as was the caramelised onion tart. The pan fried salmon and the pan fried tilapia were both well done. We enjoyed the evening.there.
Third visit to the Rose and Crown and once again a lovely meal and good to see a lively full but not noisy crowd in. The steak was delicious, cooked rare/medium and cut very well. Staff very friendly. What we hadnt seen before were the cocktails in the bar area, they sound great so next visit will be for a cocktail or two.
Rose and Crown Highgate High Street Excellent again; service improving, food good. Would prefer more changes to the menu; I love belly of pork but seem to be having it every time.
