Gazette Balham

About Gazette Balham

A full French experience on your doorstep, Balham’s Gazette is inspired by the traditional French village café. Lazy afternoons and leisurely evenings sampling fine food and glorious wines await you here at Gazette, a slice of rural France in South West London, a relaxed escape from the busy High Street. Rustic style combines with touches of French glamour at Gazette to provide an atmosphere conducive to relaxing and unwinding, whether you’re sporting your best party dress on a Friday night or your sloppiest jeans and tee on Sunday morning. But as attractive as the interior is, Gazette is concerned first and foremost with food, providing the most delicious French specialties, simple and generous with a flavour of the countryside throughout and carefully sourced delectably fresh ingredients used in every dish. A Menu Principal changes seasonally while the Plats du Jour offer a daily selection of the very best the kitchen has to offer, while Gazette’s breakfasts are the ideal way to start the day whatever the season. Around 200 bottles of wine from up and coming European producing areas are offered, sealing Gazette’s fate as a real dining headliner.

nice place to have a coffee and a baguette/something small to eat for lunch - quite a large restaurant so can feel a bit empty at lunchtime though

Took my son and friend to the Gazette in Balham for Sunday lunch and as ever really enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere. The food and also the wine are genuinely French, and we all enjoyed dipping into some very interesting French cheeses by way of desert. These are sold by the weight so there is no need for each individual to order a cheese plate, it's easier to just get one and share.
