Iberica Food & Culture

About Iberica Food & Culture

Iberica Marylebone is at the very centre of Spanish cuisine and culture in the UK. Situated in 195 Great Portland Street in London, this destination venue not only offers the best in Spanish cuisine with seasonal gastronomic tapas, but also a delicatessen selling artisan produce and wines, some of which are unique to the British market. The main ground floor restaurant is dominated by the 15-metre L-shaped bar, surrounded by numerous side tables. While the upstairs, on the mezzanine level, the more formal Caleya Dining Room offers a quieter and more intimate ambiance. Diners are offered a choice of over forty hot and cold 'tapas', which are served from lunch through ‘til late in the evening. In a relaxed yet dynamic atmosphere, simple cold dishes such as an extensive selection of cheeses and embutidos (charcuterie) – including the famous Jamón Iberico de Bellota, sit alongside classic Fritos de Pitxin, salads, sausages, bespoke tortillas and seafood offering guests a culinary contrast between both regional variations and more modern adaptations of traditional Spanish cuisine with a focus on Asturias specialities. During the day, Iberica Marylebone is flooded with natural daylight from the building’s ceiling to floor windows, but in the evening, the clever use of soft lighting imbues a more sophisticated and romantic mood.

Managed to book a table last minute Fri lunchtime table - always a miracle at somewhere this nice. I've been before & always leave happy. But this time we did have a few service issues. Waitress spoke poor English & couldn't understand a cow's milk allergy at our table and didn't point out which dishes were ok for her to eat when our mix came. Noone pointed out the olives had anchovies in so my veggie friend ate one before finding out. Table had 3 hour turnaround time but notice was given.

Iberica on Great Portland Street is fantastic - and is fast-becoming one of my favorite eateries in London. Excellent, authentic, varied Spanish tapas - largely based on northern Spanish cuisine, with as wonderful a wine list to match. Having lived in Spain in the past for several years, it's often hard to find authenticity to compare outside. Service is excellent and the setting is stylish. Easily the one of the best Spanish tapas in London - love the chorizo lollipops!
