Academy Symphonic Wind Ensemble: Strauss

In both youth and maturity, Strauss wrote masterworks for wind ensembles. This concert will include his early Suite op.4 (1884), the work with which he made his debut as a conductor, and the more expansive Symphony for Winds 'Fröhliche Werkstatt', composed shortly before the end of World War Two.
