A good night out, service friendly but a little slow, menu good but maybe a bigger choice of desserts 2 plus cheese not much variety.
We were blown away by our meal at Wine Wharf last night. Definitely book through toptable and reserve a table--it was quite busy. The staff was generally attentive and helpful, and the ambiance was fun and somewhat noisy. The FOOD, however was out of this world. I ordered the mushroom paparadelle, and it was unbelievable. I'll definitely return. The wine list, naturally, is quite impressive as well, so it's a great please to check out, even for just drinks.
being during christmass time, the waiters were very busy, so it was a bit difficult to catch their attention. The platter was delicious and excellent choice of wine. Very good value as well.
The Forge on a Saturday lunchtime is a relaxing and informal place in which to have a bit of a rest from the bussle of Borough Market. The food could be described as top-notch pub grub. A group of us shared several platters which were very generous, and an excellent wine list. The service was very good and I would definately return.
The Wine Wharf is a good place to meet up for an after work drink. We had the platter to nibble and while it was tasty, three pieces of each doesn't work well with two people. The wine list is great, plenty of choice from all around the world and to suit all prices but I object to paying for service when I had to order at the bar and carry bottle, glasses and ice bucket to my own table. I got the impression they didn't have a bookings book and no table had been reserved for us.
