Su Sazzagoni
About Su Sazzagoni
Located close to Victoria Park, Su Sazzagoni is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant that has brought the best of Sardinian cuisine to the heart of South Hackney. Inside, the exposed brickwork, light wood and low-hanging lights create a comfortable, family-friendly setting for any occasion. The menu changes at least once a week to incorporate the freshest seasonal ingredients and the chefs use traditional recipes to create authentic Sardinian fare. Popular dishes include rib-eye steak with garlic and parsley; pappardelle with wild boar ragu; and salsiccia sarda - a home-made aromatic sausage served with mushrooms and new potatoes. If you love seafood, don’t miss the linguine with crab or the gnocchi with prawns, cherry tomatoes, garlic and chilli – they’re both delicious!

Unfortunately we were all extremely disappointed. We were only a group of 13 people and there were only a few other small tables in the restaurant but the service was extremely slow. I dont mind a wait until the starter arrives because you can have wine and nibbles but we waited an extremely long time for the main course. When we asked about our main courses we were given a sharp response from the staff ! The food quality was good however once it arrived, however very overpriced.
How to turn a freezing cold winter Sunday into a sulty sunny summer one in Sardegna in one easy step: go for a long late lunch at Victora park's Su Sazzagoni. The warmth of the welcome, the food, especially the pasta - don't miss the ricotta & spinach ravioli, and the wine all excellent - marvellous place and one to which I will be returning - grazie mille - benissimo!
Lovely food, as always!
Su Sazzagoni is a great local restaurant which we visit often. The service is great, and the restaurant is lovely with long communal tables. I would recommend going on a weeknight as the layout means it can feel crowded and noisy when it's full. The Sardinian house red is amazing and the pizzas are so fresh and authentic, definitely worth a visit.
Su Sazzagoni is a great local restaurant for me, the food tastes authentic and the service is polite and efficient. The only thing I wouldn't recommend are the desserts!
