Sabor Restaurant
About Sabor Restaurant
A stylish, vibrant Latin American restaurant, café and bar on Upper Street in London’s Islington, Sabor attracts a discerning, friendly crowd. Nuevo Latino cuisine, or new Latin cuisine, is the draw here, a fresh South American cooking enlivened with a fusion touch. Sabor restaurant’s thick glass bar is the lively scene of much mojito and caipirinha drinking, while bright tables are hubs of enthusiastic eating. An original menu is an exciting exploration of much of South America, taking in the cooking of Argentina, Colombia and Peru. Anticuchos de cerdo, or coffee-glazed skewers of pork with a black bean, corn and quinoa salad, and fillet of red snapper with a crispy, spicy cocoa and chilli coating are typical of the uncommon, inventive dishes that stick in the mind long after you’ve left. Sabor’s sorbets and ice creams. made with South American fruits, make a literally refreshing change from chocolate and vanilla. Fab service.

The food at Sabor was absolutely delicious, we had empanadas paisas, yuca Frits and Cod pastries for starter and the maqueca and stake for main, the maqueca is out of this world. I was very impress. The food was very hot so we had to Wait for it to cold down for a bit, but I adipose it better hot than cold. I thought the restaurant was a bit price, wine was not actually. If you book choose the 2 courses deal for £15, if I would have chosen that one would have paid around 53 instead of 63.
Sabor in Islington was great as usual - we particularly enjoyed the ceviche and a great big seafood stew called moqueca. The only sad thing was they have taken our favourite dessert off the menu!
Sabor in Essex Road, Islington. Visited on Saturday with family. Food was nice and it's a very nice atmosphere / restaurant. Quite a small menu though which doesn't seem to change very often. Dishes were practically identical to when I went several months ago so choice is a bit limited. Portion sizes for main course could be a bit bigger.
good
Though we'd originally booked the 2-course £15 deal, we ended up going for the 25% off deal as the menu at was extensive and we wanted to try a few dishes. Our Brazilian waiter was friendly and attentive and the food tasty, though the portions were on the small side. The ox tail was quite salty so could have done with more rice. The £20 Malbec was lovely (and packed quite a punch at 14%!). 3 starters, ceviche (possibly not as authentic as others), a main and wine still came to £60, so not cheap
