Sam's Brasserie

About Sam's Brasserie

Sam's Brasserie and Bar, in London's western suburb of Chiswick, is exactly the sort of informal, award-winning restaurant you'd like to see in your neighbourhood. Set in a former paper factory, the restaurant has a light and modern interior that's full of welcome. The bywords here are affordability and flexibility. The modern European menu ranges from light salads to serious roasts matched by a huge wine list -- it's simple and stunning food served by attractive wait staff who know their stuff. And Sam's is open all day, every day, all under the watchful eye of owner Sam Harrison, who so impressed Padstow telly chef Rick Stein when he worked for him that Stein is now a backer.

Reliable as ever - good food, friendly service. Portion on the fish on the small side, though.

We went for a breakfast earlier than the time we booked - but the staff were friendly and let us sit where we wanted. Very nice food and great service. Toast was a bit burned but the Eggs Benedict was extremely tasty. Would definitely go again! Nice and quiet and secretly tucked away location from the busy high road.

Having been to Sam's in Chiswick before, this visit was a little disappointing. Initially they were unable to find our reservation. My tuna tartare was absolutely delicious and the Goan fish and prawn curry was very tasty-a Rick Stein recipe. The lamb dish though was incredibly salty - both the meat and the accompanying sauce. I also think this dish was overpriced at £20. A drink was offered as compensation for the salt which I do not feel was adequate for such an expensive dish. We refused it
