Sardo Canale
About Sardo Canale
Sardo Canale’s location on the banks of Regent’s Canal is a charming, out-of-the-way spot befitting celeb-tastic Primrose Hill. A series of airy slate-floored, brick-walled spaces combine to create an atmospheric mix of modern Italian minimalism and Sardinian rustica. At the front is a conservatory overlooking a courtyard, and leading to the back, a lounge area that was once a cobblestone barge-horse tunnel. Top marks for looks. Full marks for the food. Not surprising, really, this being the sister of the acclaimed family-run Sardo in Grafton Way. The menu is mostly Sardinian – exquisitely fresh fregola, spaghetti alla bottarga (dried mullet roe sauce), and seabass cooked in that most traditional of ways – with a salt crust. Absolutely wonderful stuff.

Good ambiance, although the food wasn't up to the mark. The halibut didn't feel fresh and felt overcooked, whereas some of the other dishes felt like the average Italian fare you could find in restaurants that are much cheaper.
Our party enjoyed friendly, attentive service and well prepared and presented tasty dishes. One of our party had special dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble for the staff
Sardo Canale Primrose Hill, London NW1 A very enjoyable evening spent at SC where we haven't been for 8 years. Excellent choice of menu: something for all tastes, and we picked at each others the dishes looked so appetising.
Sardo Canale - London Good welcome, pleasant service, disappointing food from an over complicated menu
Primrose Hill is not one of our regular dining locations, but Sardo Canale was well worth going out of the way for. Both food and wine brought back real memories of holidays in Sardinia, and service was excellent, with special effort being made to provide gluten free alternatives for my wife, who was not able to try the delicious maloreddus. The Sardinian cheese selection was astounding - both in quantity and taste, and there was really nothing we could find fault with.
