Searcy's Restaurant at the Barbican
About Searcy's Restaurant at the Barbican
Searcy’s, a relaxed lounge and restaurant located in the Barbican arts complex in east London, is ideal for relaxed cocktails and post-show suppers. The contemporary dining room commands sensational views overlooking the Barbican lakeside and city skyline, and is filled with theatre-mad dilettantes, librarians and ladies who lunch, creating a buzzy pre and post-show ambience. The modern British menu features favourites such as the Welsh rump of lamb with spring onion mash, homemade fishcakes and a delicious selection of traditional puddings.
Searcy’s restaurant is perfect for tragically theatrical post-analyses of plays, or if you just want to get a bit squiffy with mates before the show

the venue is ideal for pre concert , food first class although menu quite limited , service friendly and attentive , would certainly use again .
Searcy's, Barbican. A pleasant location with a good view. The staff coped well with the group of eight. The set menu for lunch gave plenty of choice and was very good. The winelist was reasonably priced.
The best thing that can be said of Searcy's Bar and Restaurant is that it is in the Barbican Complex and is very convenient for eating before or after a concert. Have eaten at other Searcy's at The Opera House and Portrait Gallery and they are good. At the Barbican the atmosphere and ambience is lovely - but the food was terrible - and for the price extremely disappointing. It is very expensive and one would really expect a better meal than we had.
Limited choice menu but well cooked and ideal pre concert.
Pre-concert dinner at the Barbican's Searcys was (not surprisingly) busy but efficient and friendly. Our cold starter salads - citrussy and light or chunky and carnivourous were good. Corn-fed chicken on cep risotto was tasty. Sea bass on pickled radish and fennel was a bit bland. Shared selection of unnamed cheese and trimmings was fine. Carafe of Pinotage got the thumbs-up. Lovely sunset views out over Barbican "lake" and City of London
