Group booking, almost 30 diners. Highly recommend Rose Khan, who handled the entire thing from the date of booking to the end of the event with aplomb. She was always there to help, but never overbearing or in the way. The food was outstanding - we ordered from the RVD Set Menu, and highly recommend the curry goat parcels, although everything else was fantastic too. One diner had specific dietary requirements, and Rose arranged for the chef to prepare a special meal. Highly recommended!
Caribbean Scene ExCel Marina. Chose this venue for reviews as a birthday treat & something different. The service was appalling. A drinks order took 30 mins to arrive & then another 50 mins for the starters of which only one came. We didn't wait for the other starter or main meal we left at that point & only then as we were walking out the door was we asked if there was a problem. So disappointing.
We arrived for lunch to find that we had the restaurant to ourselves. Our waiter was very attentive (but not overly), he was very accomdating allowing us to have the mixed platter for 2 instead of 4. I had the brown fish stew with cou cou, which was delightful. My guest had the flamed cooked jerk chicken with rice n peas. The portions were generous which didnt allow any room for the rum cake, there is always next time!!!
Nine of us descended on Caribbean Scene for a team night out before a big show at London ExCel. We were looking for a great place for some team bonding before the important three-day event ahead of us. The restaurant was perfect, we got a really warm and polite reception from the staff who were very polite, friendly and attentive. The food was great, the atmosphere was brilliant and we all had a superb time. I'd recommend it to anyone.
We arrived at the Caribbean Scene Restaurant and was greeted and shown to a table of our choice, over looking the Thames. Because it was mid week and quite late there were not many diners, but the atmosphere was good. We ordered and the meal came in good time. The food and the service were very good. We were not rushed. Overall a very good evening and well worth going again, especially for that special ocassion.
