Shepherd's

About Shepherd's

Situated on Marsham Street in the heart of Westminster, Shepherd’s Restaurant is an ideal venue for business lunches and discreet dinners a deux. The low ceilings, partitions and pillars create an intimate but informal atmosphere that remains popular with the political fraternity from the nearby Houses of Parliament and local government offices. The Anglo-French menu offers a two or three course prix fixe, which offers excellent value for money. Popular dishes include confit of duck with carrot mash; maize-fed chicken breast with asparagus and a leek and cream sauce; and crème brulee with roasted rhubarb. The wine list caters for all tastes and budgets and includes popular French wines interspersed with a selection of superior quality and New World wines.

As ever, Shepherd's offered a discreet, unhurried haven for a London lunch and catch-up with an ex-colleague. Not having time for a long, lingering lunch, I know from experience that the efficient, courteous service would ensure that no time would be wasted. At the higher end of the price range, but great for an occasional treat.

We went to Shepherds for another after work dinner which was nice as usual. We will attend again I am sure.

Shepherds, Marsham Street, London, three minutes walk from Westminster Abbey, is London's answer to the traditional Parisian Brasserie. The welcome, service and general ambience is friendly, professional and welcoming in a thoroughly businesslike way. This is an eating house for politicians, business people and motivated professionals and their friends. The food was traditional, beautifully cooked and the service unpretentious but attentive. A very pleasant eating experience.

booked private room for a party of 20 at short notice and the staff were very helpful and organised the evening with no hassle. The party had a good time and all said we will go back.
