This smart glass-fronted café, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Yo Sushi! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

OK, but food a bit disappointing. Staff were great though.
A nice welcome, my date was 10 minutes late but that was not a problem. The food was very nice, we chose the mixed mezze and it was very good value for this part of London. Staff were efficient but did not to hassle us to eat faster, as happens elsewhere, so they can squeeze extra meze plates on the table. We shall return particularly as there is a 10% discount for St Thomas' Hospital staff!
Troia Bar and Restaurant, County Hall, London. This is not the first time I have been to this restaurant and on each occasion the quality of food and service has been exceptional for the price. Simply good value for money.

we went to Troia Bar and Restaurant for the second time. We still enjoyed the place and the food. The meze is good value for money if you want simple nice diner. good location as well.
