Didn't help that we went on a weekday lunch, I'm guessing many of the hotels guests were exploring other restaurants in London and it isnt an obvious place to have a client lunch. Saying that, the chef should have paid extra attention to our food. Tapas starters were mediocre, the bruschetta was nothing special, the prawns slightly better but the calamari was literally like eating battered elastic bands. Main was average, disappointed considering the price. Wouldnt rush back.
Food was nice and very good considering the price. The service and atmosphere at The Place generally made for a pleasant evening.
Charming staff. Pity they were unable to bring food or bills at the correct time. Food was bland and overcooked. Decor appalling. Not great but nothing you could lay a formal complaint about.
The Place is set within a very nice hotel. The lobster was a good price and was well cooked but the accompanying vegetables were undercooked and disappointing for over £4 a portion. The steak was also not the best tasted. Overall, an o.k. experience but a little overpriced.
The place was a very nice place to eat. The portions were large and the food of high quality. It was very empty when I went and so it was a little quiet and chilly. Overal a good dining experience
