The Old Masters Restaurant at the Rubens at The Palace
About The Old Masters Restaurant at the Rubens at The Palace
For a traditional, high-end London dining experience, The Old Masters is up there with the best. The Rubens at The Palace, the luxurious hotel it's part of, was built in 1912 as a hostel for debutantes coming out at Buckingham Palace down the road. The restaurant itself is set out like a traditional carvery grill with ornate high ceilings, chandeliers, the works. Fresh roasts are on the menu every day. Amongst the most famed dishes is the excellent Aberdeen Angus beef roast. Salads, fish and vegetarian dishes are also on the menu.

Good food and service. A nice venue for a pre-theatre meal.
excellent service , nice hot buffet style lunch, comfy armchairs at the tables very english, elegant hotel
The Old Masters restaurant at the Rubens Hotel was excellent! The food was very good, but the service was wonderful!!!! Very attentive staff made the night even more enjoyable!! Highly recommend!
We visited the Old Masters at the Rubens Hotel London for a pre-theatre meal for my daughters 13th birthday. The restaurant was stunning, staff couldn't be more helpful or polite. Starters consisted of a salad buffet or soup with the carvary for main course including a fish and vegitarian alternative. Choice of two meats and an excellent selection of fresh vegetables, all nice and hot. Fantastic selection of desserts ... White chocolate mouse was out of this world!
The Rubens Hotel Buckingham Palace Road London. The dining room and surroundings were very inpressive and the staff exceedingly helpful and polite. However, the meal was so disappointing. The starters looked 'tired' and this only 5 30 pm. The meat although nicely cooked contained excessive fat and gristle A good variety of vegetables but sadly the carrots swede and cauliflower were practicly raw and lacked all taste.Potatoes were overcooked. The desserts looked good but tasted 'processed'.
