Toptable says about Queen's Head & Artichoke

Once the beautiful Victorian interiors of this old pub were restored to their original glory and the first floor dining room opened, along with outside terrace for dining, the locals must have breathed a sigh of delight before tucking into some seriously good gastropub grub. Business folk crowd in at lunchtimes, while friendlier couples and groups pack in evenings and weekends. There is something here to suit most palates and pockets. The menu changes daily - another sign that they're serious about food here - but we recently loved the fish chowder, and the aubergine, potato and spinach bhaji with yoghurt. The wine list is heaven.

Queens Head and Artichoke - what can I say - i think its one of the best gastropubs I have ever been too. the Sunday lunch is amazing - been there with partner and with friends and I will keep going back. Wonderful. shame it took me so long to hear about it

Restaurant closed which confused me but very pleasant in the pub downstairs. Enjoyed the Tapas and main course but the cheesecake was a let down

A perennial favourite for business lunches, or dinners with friends. Food was excellent as usual.

A convenient staple for a lunch meeting away from the office. Continued good service and good food.

Nice food, but the impression I got from the toptable website was portraying the place as a classy gastro pub. I felt it was more like an average pub that happened to do nice food.
