The Sir Richard Steele

About The Sir Richard Steele

Atmosphere comes by the bucket-load here at The Sir Richard Steele, an attention grabbing pub and restaurant in the upmarket London neighbourhood of Belsize Park. A sturdy Victorian landmark, The Sir Richard Steele has, during its long lifetime, amassed a collection of weird and wonderful objet d’art, antiquities and other paraphernalia that make it seem almost part museum as you dine beneath a wall mounted antique bicycle, watched over by a host of nameless historical figures and surrounded by ceiling frescoes, row upon row of old books and pub advertisements. Outside a patio area provides pleasant al fresco dining while the inside is an unbeatably cosy space, ideal for after work drinks or laid back Sunday afternoons. The Sir Richard Steele not only offers the best of beers and wines but a comprehensive menu of sharing boards and tapas-style dishes alongside a range of pub favourite mains combining British heartiness and a splash of European sophistication.

We had a lovely Sunday roast at Sir Richard Steele in Belsize this week. Between us we tried the beef, the chicken and the veggie and everyone was very happy. The pub has great ambience and there was a non-intrusive but talented jazz band playing - I would definitely recommend. For dessert we shared a sticky toffee pudding and it was divine.
