Located just off of Westbourne Grove near Notting Hill, this is a sophisticated restaurant, bar, deli and oyster bar all rolled into one. Good vibe, great food and the service was faultless. English Garden cocktail was dangerously tasty. King prawns fresh & juicy, 400g steak was cooked perfectly (& interestingly served on a wooden board) My stone bass was also delicious. Cheese board was a little disappointing for the price - far more biscuits than cheese. Great meal was let down however by appalling coffee - burnt & bitter. Would definitely recommend to go here for dinner, just save the coffee for when you get home :)

Nice and buzzy - arrived 15 mins early but no problem to get table. Very friendly staff. Venison carpaccio stunning taste and terrine great too. Roast halibut again perfect - small gripe that the swordfish (special) wasn't that warm - though they offered tea/coffee on the house to make up. Will go again and some of the events look good value, too.

We had a really pleasant meal at The Commander Porterhouse & Oyster Bar in Notting Hill. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the ambience good. The food was okay, the sole lacked a little flavour and the swordfish was on the small side.

Lunch on sat for 5. 3 course meal with wine. Relaxed atmosphere. got a quiet table we requested. Only 3 other diners. Waitressi was very courteous with a good sense of humour. person serving food got the wrong order. did not know what he was serving! we asked him whether it was a salmon tartar and he said he did not know! this was fixed. Overall good ambience, VERY Poor value, mediocre to bad food (starters ok, mussels). Minute steak microscopic tasted awful.

Great food - my tuna starter was especially delicious - and equally fantastic wine. Service was a little slow, and there were quite a few under 10s running around when we first got there, which isn't really my thing. Will go again for sure, though.
