Toptable says about Boat House
Tucked away next to the canal in London's Little Venice, The Boat House restaurant is one of the area's best-kept secrets. With the feel of a continental riverside bistro, The Boat House is chic and stylish, with the clean lines of woods and creams allowing the views over the canal to take centre stage. A modern European menu showcases a range of bistro classics, including a luscious onglet with burree shalotte and chips, roast salmon with marsh samphire and a cream and sorrel sauce, as well as as one of the better steak tartares in London. Beautiful food, gorgeous views – no wonder the locals would rather the secret never got out.

Lovely setting and delicious food served in very reasonable portions. Tables overlooking the canalside were a little chilly, though nothing a bottle of wine didn't cure, and it was a cold evening so probably to be expected - for chilly winter nights it may be better to be seated further into the restaurant. For spring and summer dinners, it's location and ambience will certainly be a winner. Well worth a repeat visit in due course!
not too busy for a saturday night which suited us,
its a nice place, the food was really good.
nice friendly serviice.
chicken livers followed by duck confit then a very good creme brulee,
really faultless.
one question though why is the rib eye steak £21?
thats quite alot for rib-eye...
the other mains were all reasonably priced.
Great food and service. A really lovely restaurant to take friends to and the location on the canal is stunning.
BoatHouse - Little Venice. Lovely amdience, relaxed and cosy. Starters were tasty. Unfortunately I had to send back my steak (first time I can remember for a long time having send a dish back) as it was really badly oversalted. The waitress dealt with it well but I couldn't help but notice the defensive look on the chef's face from the open kitchen that we were sat opposite - they needed to clean the grill. The recooked rib-eye was better (med-rare cooked properly).
The Boathouse Restaurant must be one of London's best situated venues, if you can find it. I'd walked past it everyday when i lived nearby but never ventured in and now wonder why it took me so long. It's not expensive, the service is pleasant, the food is good and the experience overall worthy of several repeats.
