Brasserie Gerard in Kensignton was very poor value for money so not surprised it's being closed down. food was very mediocre but mains cost upwards of £13 plus you needed to purchase a side dish on top! many better resturants in London so avoid whilst it's still open
good quick meal before the Albert hall. restaurant about to have a refurbishment. not gourmet dining but worth a visit.
I booked the Brasserie Gerard, Kensington as it was close to the Royal Albert Hall and my friend and I were not disappointed. I found the restaurant cosy and warm. The service was excellent. The food was really delicious. I had the smoked salmon for starters and rump steak for main. My friend had the french soup and seabass for main. The portions were generous and we were both quite full at the end. We both really enjoyed the whole evening. I would definitely visit again and recommend it.
Brasserie Gerard in London was lovely. The service was quick and friendly. The specials of the day were excellent and the portions are generous. We went here before going to the Royal Albert Hall and it proved a good choice.
We booked Brasserie Gerard as it appeared on the Toptable map as closest to the Royal Albert Hall. However, it is over 1 km from the Hall and a 15 minute walk. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday to be told they were out of moules and steaks - about 25% of the items on their menu. We chose the simple one course and a drink menu. The roast chicken and the prawns with garlic butter dishes were OK but nothing special. Service was good.
