We attended Pearl Restaurant & Bar at Holborn last night for my girlfriends birthday. The service of the wait staff plus the knowledge of the sommelier where the clear stand-outs of the evening with the food coming in a close third.

Pearl Restaurant, London - lovely setting, very expensive and food was not as classy as the decor.

The Chancery Court Hotel is a great place to enjoy a relaxing drink, classy, comfortable and 'reassuringly expensive'. I had not eaten at the Pearl Restaurant before and the TopTable menu seemed reasonable value. And it proved to be just like the hotel - classy yet comfortable, with very good service, and the list of (large) glasses of wine are certainly expensive. But hidden in the wine list are whole bottles for around £20 so worth a look. Food was very good too.
