Cote
About Cote
Recently opened in the heart of Theatreland and voted 'Best Value restaurant in the UK' by the Good Food Guide 2009, Cote in Covent Garden has received rave reviews from professional critics and local gourmets alike. The inspiration for the fuss-free French food and the stylish interior comes from the traditional bistros of Paris, and both are proving a big hit with London’s demanding foodies. The emphasis is on simply, reasonably priced dishes and the menu includes familiar Gallic favourites like moules marinières; steak haché with skinny frites; duck confit; and naughty-but-nice tarte tatin with Calvados cream. Cote is ideal for laid-back lunches, mid-week dinners with friends, and pre-theatre meals. We guarantee you’ll come back time after time.

You can aways relay on a decent meal at Cote. The pre-theatre menu is ideally priced and turned around quick. The waiting staff are clearly rushed off their feet in this period but it is to be expected and there were no delays.
Cote - Covent Garden Fantastic value pre-theatre menu. The place was heaving at 6.15 but service was really efficient so we made our 7.30 show with time to spare.
Cote - Tavistock Street., London. Meal was very disappointing. Chose the pre-theatre menu, Had to send the starter back, goats cheese and beetroot salad, as the cheese was barely there. it was replaced immediately and looked a completely different and improved starter, but the first one shouldn't have left the kitchen. The minute stake was grisly and not pleasant and I left most of it. The waitress was very pleasant and the manager gave us complementary coffees.
Lovely cheap eat pre-theatre, service was very good, nice buzz about the place. Will be going again.
Cote was great. Almost empty because of the snow, and a bit cold due to a faulty door closer, but the food was wonderful, from a pisaladiere appetiser, through creammy soup and a succulent coq au vin to the warm and crumbly apple and almond tart. A great bistro.
