Toptable says about Cous Cous Darna

Feel the heat of the Moroccan desert at Cous Cous Darna -- the fire of the people, the warmth of the hues and the passion in the cooking. Fittings and ambiance are imported from Morocco, creating an authentic outpost of North Africa in the heart of South Ken. You'll be surrounded by ochre walls, Berber pottery and pierced wooden screens while relaxing on chairs upholstered in Berber script. Bring a friend and start the meal with the Kemla salad terre-mer, including a very good aubergine zaalouk, then follow with one of the eight tagines or Darna's signature couscous with lamb, chicken, and merguez sausages. The wine list has a unique list of Moroccan beers, wines and cocktails to explore. Don't miss the shisha pipe. Belly dancers at the weekend.

Couscous Darna - good value with the TT 50% off offer but otherwise £16 for a tagine is a little expensive even for kensington. great ambience and decor in the restaurant and pretty decent house red for £13.

Couscous Darna was a lively experience, particularly as the belly dancer wended her way through the restaurant toward the end of the evening. The food varied from pretty good to outstanding. In the best category were a delicious coriander/lemon seabass and an apricot chicken tagine. The couscous itself was light and fluffy. Starters were good but not exceptional. Don't bother with the vegetarian tagine as it's virtually no different from the veg they bring you anyway free - a waste of £11.

Fantastic food at Couscous Darna and great value with the 50% off. It's all about the lamb and prune tagine followed by mint tea. Friendly staff and great atmosphere... only downside was the belly dancing - although the idea is a great one the music was too loud and the dancing was a bit 'in your face'
