About St Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe Church

Built by Sir Christopher Wren (1685-1695) and reconstructed between 1959-1963 after war damage. Memorials to Shakespeare and Dowland. Early 16thC figures of St Andrew and St Ann holding the blessed Virgin Mary who cradles the infant Jesus. Banners of City and Diocese of London, Mercers and Apothecaries and Blacksmiths Companies and Parish Clerks' Company. There is a 17thC font, 18thC chandeliers, pulpit and Royal Arms. This is a Castle Baynard Ward church.

St Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe Church Facilities

Opening Times Open to visitors 8.30 am-6.00pm Monday to Friday. Services are held at 12.35pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30 am. Friday and 10am. Sunday.
There is no entrance charge but donations are welcome.

    Tchaikovsky: Liturgy of St John Chrysostom. The choir will be singing Tchaikovsky’s Liturgy of St John Chrysostom, together with a pair of motets by Tchaikovsky - How blessed are they and Now the powers of Heaven. We are delighted that the distinguished composer Ivan Moody (himself a priest of the Greek Orthodox Church) will sing the chant.
