Le Cafe Anglais
About Le Cafe Anglais
A new landmark has appeared on the London restaurant scene, Le Café Anglais, adjacent to the Whiteley’s centre in London’s Bayswater. Chef owner Rowley Leigh – founder of the iconic Kensington Place and Launceston Place restaurants - has created a large, bustling brasserie with European menus that he describes as "both proudly English and yet utterly unashamed of our debt to France." With views across the rooftops and along Queensway to Kensington Gardens, Le Café Anglais restaurant has magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows, leather banquettes, satin curtains and linen tablecloths. It is an ideal venue for leisurely lunches, weekend brunches, or pre-theatre / post-theatre dinners. The open kitchen features a giant rôtisserie for chicken, game and legs of lamb or beef, plus the menu offers a long list of hors d’oeuvres, soups, pasta dishes, fish and desserts. And the super wine list features a section of fine wines sold with a very limited markup, so you can match the excellent cuisine with something unforgettable.

I went to Le Café Anglais in Porchester Gardens yesterday evening with my family. Excellent food and service! I'll be back soon!!
Fabulous. Marvellous atmosphere, delightful setting and sublime food. The perfect place to find sunshine on a cold, wet and gloomy Sunday. And worth the pilgrimage from south west London.
Le Cafe Anglais,London.Lovely big restaurant with floor to ceiling lead windows, nice leather banquettes make for a romantic setting. The service was very helpful and the food beautifully prepared.
Pleasant welcome - good table in a lovely expansive and light dining room with big windows. Food delicious and the service was fine my only criticism (and this is not about the waiter who was only doing his job) but there is obviously a really irritating policy where waiters are instructed to replenish the wine glasses, now I don't know anyone who actually likes this or finds it helpful in any way. It reeks of all things abhorrent whichever way you look at it. Apart from that a lovely evening!
Very enjoyable lunch in lovely atmosphere. The large leaded window panes are very attractive. The food was tasty and well presented. This was our fisrt visit to the Cafe Anglais. We'll be back again.
