Set in between the Hackney Downs and Hackney Central tube stations and around the corner from the Hackney Empire, Cirrik is a local dining institution that always has regulars coming back for their generously sized Turkish meals. Serving everything from Turkish beers and pizzas to fresh salads, meze and pasta, Cirrik is a family-friendly dining room which is popular with a fun local crowd of young professionals, students and Hackney hipsters who all love the kitchen's classic kebabs. Don't miss the grilled sea bass with rocket and roast tomatoes in a lemon grass sauce or the aubergines stuffed with minced lamb, onions, garlic, tomatoes and green peppers topped with melted cheese.

Cirrik is extremely conveniently located close to Hackney Central station but not so close that it is disturbing. The ambience is pleasant, the service good and the food is very good. My only criticism is that the full priced menu is a little overpriced, given the location and quality of the cuisine.
Went there after a Sunday matinee at the Hackney Empire. Quirky place, they could do with replacing some light bulbs as we had trouble reading the menu! Great food, huge portions...not cheap at £75 for 2 courses for two incl wine. Take cash as they don't accept credit cards. Will return.
Great meat, bread, salads and wine, and fabulous value. Cirrik is a really good local restaurant.
The Cirrik is a little gem in Hackney, the food was very good turkish cuisine. Service was a bit slow as we were off to the Hackney Empire. A couple of gripes is the scaffolding which surrounds the exterior of the restaurant, which means you can easily walk past the restaurant. The 2nd gripe is the area where the chefs are cooking, it looks like a kebab shop and does not give a good impression of the restaurant, needs to be smartened up!
We ordered lamb meatballs and a mixed grill. The food was served quickly, the staff were attentive. The portions were huge and we even took some home with us to eat the next day. A lovely mix of locals without the uber trendy ray ban and hummus crew you sometimes find in this area.
