Situated on Brick Lane, also known as London’s curry mile, Masala is a traditional Indian restaurant serving up authentic food in relaxed surroundings. The interior is cool and contemporary, with high-backed leather chairs and neutral décor – perfect if you want to drop in for lunch or linger over dinner with friends. The menu is full of familiar favourites like chicken madras and lamb rogan josh, but we recommend trying one of Masala’s signature dishes like Roopchanda – a Sylheti dish of queen fish marinated in lemon, exotic spices and a fresh tomato, coriander and garlic sauce. For something light and tasty, try the tandoori platter for two. For an after-work snack or a laid-back dinner before a night out, Masala is hard to beat.

We vsited Masala in London's Brick Lane on a friday evening after a reccomendation, although the food was of a good standard, there was no atmosphere in the restaurant and a very commercial approach to their service.
Masala. Brick Lane, London: Hardly the sort of restaurant you would go to for refined and relaxed dining, but if you're after really tasty indian food you can't do much better than Masala.
Masala on brick lane is very good value, food is nice and authentic. Service very good.

Masala, Brick Lane: Very long, thin restaurant which was laid out with tables which were far too small for comfort. Food was OK, service less wonderful - it would help if the restaurant weren't constantly trying to get you to buy more of their very expensive beers, and then sticking a huge service charge on top. Would I go back? Possibly, but there are better restaurants on Brick Lane.
