Toptable says about Antonio's Pizzeria
Located on Upper Street in Islington, Antonio's is a family-owned restaurant that has won the hearts of locals with its friendly service and authentic Italian food. Inside, it's reminiscent of the cosy trattorias you discover on Italian holidays – complete with exposed brickwork, candlelit tables and walls lined with wine bottles. Antonio's father is from Calabria so the menu is full of bold southern Italian flavours and delicious dishes like pappardelle with wild boar ragu; zuppa di pesce; and fillet steak with aubergines, parmesan and basil. Kids will love the spicy Diavola pizza, while grown-ups can enjoy the excellent Italian wine list. Whether it's for lunch with friends, dinner with colleagues or a romantic meal for 2; Antonio's never fails to impress.

My mum was vising for Mother's Day weekend so we kicked off on Friday night with a meal at Antonios. Having had an excellent meal there a few weeks before we had high hopes for our visit and it completely lived up to expectations. This has to be one of the best restaurants in the Upper Street area, delicious unpretentious Italian food served in an ambient, rustic setting with a great wine list and outstanding service. Fantastic!
First visit since it opened - great friendly service and good value.Good atmosphere. Excellent choice of starters and mains for the Toptable deal. Will return.
We went to Antonio's on a Thursday night. Food and service were good and would return.
I will be returning very soon to Antonio's. Down the backstreets of Upper Street, we didn't really know what to expect. But the place had a lovely atmosphere, the service was great and the menu was very extensive (even if though it was only a set menu!). I was very impressed indeed.
Went for a romantic meal and wasn't disappointed. The food was great (although not the largest portions) and the ambience was just right. There was also a range of additional specials that we could have chosen as part of the offer. Worth a go with the offer.
