The park was once the grounds of Colonel North's mansion, built in 1890 and now a teacher training college. The domed winter garden houses exotic specimens and a large conservatory. Well-used sportsfield at weekends consisting of 11 football and 2 rugby pitches.

Opening Times	Parkland is open 24 hrs, 7 days a week. Winter Gardens: Mon-Sun: 10.00-12.00, then 13.00-16.00. Closed: Christmas Hols.
