Boundary Restaurant

About Boundary Restaurant

Boundary, the latest venture from Terence and Vicki Conran, is set in a converted Victorian warehouse in the heart of ultra-trendy Shoreditch. Tucked away from the bustling high street, the ground floor restaurant is a cool and contemporary space popular with smart suits and East London scenesters. The seasonally changing menu features classic French and English dishes, while trolleys heavy with charcuterie and cheeses roll through the stylish dining room. Seafood fans can feast on an impressive selection of crustacea, while roast leg of lamb and rib of beef take centre stage every Sunday. The wine list has a distinctly European flavour and with over five hundred bins to choose from, it caters for connoisseurs and novices alike.

Another great meal at The Boundary for our anniversary dinner. We were early for our table and enjoyed coctails at the bar where they certainly know how to mix an Old Fashioned. The food was extremely good, delicate flavours but the overwhelming preponderence of seafood throughout the course selection limited our alternative choices. We chose an excellent French Chardonnay and New World Cab - both lived up to their expensive billing. All in all a great evening. Very pricey though at £85 head

Boundary, Shoreditch. Excellent evening with 20 people in the private area on one large table. Everything organised by the restaurant was spot on. Due to the party size, we had to choose from set menu's but the food was very good as usual. Good, well priced wine and excellent service. Private area is curtained from the main restaurant but you still get the atmosphere. Restaurant also printed menu's and place cards and generally did everything to take care of us.

Boundry is a lovely place to go too in Shoreditch. walking down the stairs, you think you are in the wrong place due to the gastly blue painted walls but dont be fooled as the decor inside is much better. Food and service was impeccable and the knowledge and advice from the sommelier was outstanding. Even the waiter who served us with the pate selection and filling up our water always had a smile on his face. We had the 3 course select menu which was perfect and by the end we were very full.

Boundary is a great venue for first class cuisine in Shoreditch. Although it's a basement restaurant, it is double-height so it still feels spacious - rather like a restaurant in New York's meatpacking district. Our starters of Steak Tartare were particularly delicious. The staff is attentive (but not too so) and knowledgeable. There are two other restaurants within The Boundary hotel - a 'caff' serving local produce and a rooftop grill, open in the summer. We'll definitely be back.
