About The Space

The Space is a multi-arts centre on the Isle of Dogs, programming a mixture of theatre, music, comedy and dance. Converted from a 19th century church, with stained glass windows, a Steinway grand piano and flexible seating, the venue provides a unique and atmospheric environment.

    The Olympic Games, East London. An American businessman and a Russian opportunist begin to make moves in setting up a trafficking ring and taking advantage of the mass market The Games will bring with it. As the trafficked girls fight for survival, another battle is being had in Westminster. Recent master’s graduate Catherine York, using her father’s foothold in cabinet, is trying to bend the ears of the most powerful in Parliament in the hope of pushing through a revised anti-trafficking paper. But when Catherine’s father loses his cabinet spot to an expenses scandal and her fiancée unwittingly pays for one of the trafficked girls in a drunken haze, the lives of the two groups collide with devastating consequences and supernatural revelations. Leering Falcon Theatre presents (…act like it never happened). written and directed by Dominic Hedges. This is a fantasy play concerning sex trafficking, bitter rivalry and human responsibility and asks if we, as individuals, have a role in the universal balance of right and wrong. Performing for the first time in East London, and supported by anti-trafficking charity Stop The Traffik , this play boasts an immensely talented cast of new, young actors who all serve to reveal the workings of the sex trade from both ends of the spectrum and shed light on its prominence in the UK.

A Queen, a mother and the most famous female monarch of all time Lear. Lazarus returns to Shakespeare for one of the most sensational of all the tragedies. Through the use of ensemble, text, music and movement a company of over twenty actors shall create a world re-imagined, where a female monarch clings to her identity, throne and Kingdom.
