Gaucho Smithfield

About Gaucho Smithfield

Bringing a touch of Argentine flavour to the diverse streets of East London, Gaucho Smithfield is rather aptly situated opposite the infamous centuries old Smithfield meat market. It’s a fashionable spot, equidistant from Farringdon and Barbican tube stations in the centre of the local restaurant scene, accessible to and popular with the local creative crowd as well as the more straight-laced City workers, and Gaucho really does live up to its location, providing a look and feel inspired by New York’s Meatpacking District – eclectic, glamorous, contemporary and fun, with tongue very firmly in cheek. Known for its steaks, straight from Argentina of course, and prepared for full flavour and perfect texture, Gaucho Smithfield also offers a surprisingly wide selection of seafood and vegetarian dishes, ensuring every guest is well catered for. Hand-picked boutique wines are the final flourish that makes Gaucho a must for lingering lunches and decadent dinners, business, pleasure or simply refuelling in style.

Gaucho is pricy but staff are good and ambience is nice. The best steak in the world is probably Delfrescos 6th Avenue and 49th street New York.... they should go there and try a steak from there. The Malbecs they have in Gaucho are great .. the vina Patricia is good value and is great. Steaks should better really. Still I like the place.

Cannot fault the excellent steaks we had at Gaucho in Smihfield. Attentive service. Extensive (if pricy) wine list. Definitely recommend for a celebration or if you fancy a top quality steak.

I always like going to The Gaucho restaurants. Fab food and great service. Cheese bread balls are always fab too. Trust the cocktail specials - no matter how strange sounding the ingredients! Great evening.
