Madhus restaurant is something of an institution in London’s Southall. Still managed by the Anand brothers who opened it more than 25 years ago, Madhus Indian restaurant is a popular destination for Punjabi families, adventurous non-Asians, and savvy critics. Its look is contemporary – illuminated glass panelling, shiny black granite flooring, black leather chairs, and white table linen neatly arranged by waitresses in saris. The cooking at Madhus is Punjabi with a Kenyan twist and the most popular dishes include the nyamah choma – lamb spare ribs marinated in lemon and chilli then chargrilled -- and the buzi bafu – lamb chops simmered in the house onion and tomato sauce. Pick of the Punjabi offering is the perfect jeera chicken starter. The homemade almond kulfi is near divine. Among the restaurants in London’s vast Indian dining scene, Madhus stands out for its fine cuisine and excellent quality.

Average food, average service.
Madhu's Southall was a good experience. Good food and service. The specials are recommended with the depth of flavour and bend of spices . The dishes are obviously marinated where necessary . The size of the starters were huge and two portions of rice a mixed vegatable curry and a naan bread between four was more than we needed as side dishes. Definitely intend to return
Madhus, Southall. Party of 10 on a busy Saturday night. Service was fine, didn't have to wait too long for the food. Mixed feelings about the food. The bhindi and daal was lovely but the paneer wasn't that great which was a bit disappointing considering they are a famous restaurant and paneer is a popular dish. Would recommend but there are other better options around.
I booked Madhus for my mother's birthday and 6 of us attended using the 20% off offer. This was fantastic! We ordered the set menu which was £20 per person but 20% off and I have to say the food was absolutely delicious and vast quantities were given so by the time we finished starters we needed a half hour break before contemplating the main meal. Service was oustanding and the waiters were very attentive. My mother even got a sparkler in her dessert! Will definitely return.
