A very sutable venue for a quiet and relaxed meal in the very heart of the West End. It is a favoured restaurant to meet friends and eat before or after attending a theatre performance. Have used it several times before and will do so again.
Hampshire Bar and Restaurant at Leicester Square is usually good for pre-theatre, but last night it was a bit below par. We had a table in the bar and the main problem was slow service . . . not ideal when one is going to the theatre. Food was ok -- not great. smoked salmon starter was uninspired. Chicken breast on potato cake was good. Didn't have time for desert or coffee.
Hampshire Hotel, Leics Squ, London. I have mixed feelings about this place. The food was good, we had both the = a la carte & the set menu which was good value with 3 choices/course. Sides are needed for greens, but portions are good & lots of bread to fill up on. The wine list didn't have many options at the lower end of the budget. However my issue was the service & ambiance. Layout of tables was a bit odd and they were on a mission to empty the wine bottle asap filling up our glasses.
Enjoyed the atmosphere. Food was ok, Cocktails were very good. Good place to just chill out and avoid the mass crowds in Leicester square.
Excellent food, really good service. Nice surroundinngs, modern but classy. Booked expecting pre theatre dinner menu to be available: budget. However when I arrived, was informed a la Carte menu, this was fine as had 50% off Couple of errors on bill, inc tt discount wasn't applied bit rectified with ease I highly recommend
