Celebrity chef Ian Pengelley brings his acclaimed pan-Asian cuisine to this big, bold Babylonian-style space in the Camden Town Stables Market development. The open kitchen of the main restaurant invites you to gaze at Pengelly in action. The dining room itself feels endlessly spacious, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and a 40ft-high ceiling with retractable roof. A sake sommelier will assist you in exploring the comprehensive menu of more than thirty different sakes and matching them to the dishes you choose. And there's more - a luxurious lounge, a bar and an ornate traditional tea room to entice you to stay from noon til late.

Second time I ate at Gilgamesh was as good as the first although service a little slower, probably due to booking during busy period on a Sat night. Food is always immaculately presented and the ambience and decor of Gilgamesh is very different and unique, and thoroughly enjoyable.
Gilgamesh is a rare place. Intricately carved wood, studied lighting and hammered brass plate are juxtaposed with original Victorian iron structures and the grittier bustle of Camden Market. The toilets alone are worth the trip. The £40 set menu, a steal with the 50% offer, is a careful and dazzling composition, with consistent attention to detail and flavour. Two cocktails will double your bill, but they're innovative and tasty, so it's not hard to justify the expense.
Overall my experience at Gilgamesh on this occasion was just average - the food as delicious as always but service was poor. As we had chosen the 50% off deal through Top Table, we only had our table for 2 hours and you could really tell the staff wanted us moved on a quickly as possible - mains were served whilst we were still finishing entrees and then plates were cleared even before I was finished! Such a shame as all previous visits have been great
Great place for dinner with friends. Staff are friendly and attentive. Toptable deal is excellent value and you don't leave hungry! Would recommend.
Gilgamesh is fantastic and Ian Pengally was there on the evening.
