The Bolingbroke

About The Bolingbroke

Situated at the end of Northcote Road in Clapham, The Bolingbroke is another gastropub gem from the team behind The Stonhouse and The Abbeville. It’s popular all week long with a relaxed after-work crowd and draws in local couples and families at the weekend with a promising brunch menu and excellent Sunday roasts. The interior is comfortably chic with wood-panelling, white-washed walls and a windowed ceiling creating a light and airy setting for laid-back dining. On the menu, there are heart British dishes like steak and ale pie and lamb shank alongside more refined options like sole with thyme and lemon risotto. With the added bonus of a great wine list and friendly staff, The Bolingbroke is definitely one to return to.

Excellent as usual. The calamari was crisp and light, the pig's cheeks with chorizo and lentils was a stand-out and the mussels were fresh and plump. For mains, the dish that won must plaudits was probably the grilled lamb steak but I was also a fan of the rabbit.

None of us had been to The Bolingbroke before so we tried it for a friends birthday, they were very accomodating even when we added 2 extra people, the food was great and we had a great time overall.

The Bolingbroke is a nice Gastro pub, food was tasty but overpriced.

We went to The Bollingbroke for a celebratory birthday lunch and the venue was perfect - good atmosphere, great service, fantastic food and all very fairly priced - definitely recommended!

Excellent. Everything was well cooked and service was prompt and friendly. Stand outs were the haddock smokies and tempura squid starters, and the lamb shank and the mini ham were the top mains. However, there wasn't a single disappointment. The cheese is very generous and a decent selection of 4, and the chocolate pot was rich and delicious. Only down-side was that it's a little noisy in the dining room given the acoustics, but your ears do adjust eventually!
