The Green
About The Green
Since it opened in 2004, The Green has become a Clerkenwell landmark, popular with local residents and the trendy after-work crowd. The venue combines a ground floor bar and a first floor dining room to create the perfect mix of bustling city drinks spot and friendly neighbourhood eatery. The menu changes on a monthly basis and includes dishes like home-made chicken and mushroom pie; French bean, artichoke and butternut squash salad with pesto dressing; and brandy-flamed calves liver haché in bacon and mushroom sauce. The bar offers a wide range of draught lagers and a well chosen wine list, as well as tasty tapas and small plates. Why not pop in at the weekend for Saturday brunch or their legendary Sunday roasts?

The Green in Clerkenwell was excellent - food was delicious
We booked Sunday lunch at The Green, Clerkenwell Green, London as we were going on to a concert at the Barbican Hall. We could have chosen from roast beef, pork or lamb (or a vegetarian dish). I can honestly say that the roast pork with all (and I mean all) the trimmings was one of the best I've ever had (including my own cooked). We then had a delicious dessert. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I would thoroughly recommend The Green.
Had a relaxing meal at the Green. The food was good and the service appropriately relaxed. The beef ribs starter was very good and the hake and the lamb burger were both very tasty. The dessert was also delicious. The wine was reasonably priced.
Good food. Beer was only ok
The Green Clerkenwell: good food, good service, good location, and can cater for a crowd even from the regular menu. The lamb shoulder with chorizo starter is a must.
